'Tom Sachs: Work Catalogue' Is a Window Into the Artist's Craft

Tom Sachs has released a new art book titled Tom Sachs: Work Catalogue, offering a close examination of some of Sachs’ works and his approach to his craft. The book includes 68 pages of some of the artist’s most coveted works, like Sound Systems, Model Seventy Two and Nakamichi, to mention a few. Sachs’ book showcases an expansive mix of prints and photos that cleanly document his work, labeled with each piece’s title. There’s a brief introduction written by Sachs explaining some of his unique methods, like “multicycle,” where he continues developing ideas for decades. According to Sachs, some of the works featured in this art book are the result of ideas he’s been developing for around 30 – 40 years.

Wear Testers Share What's Inside Tom Sachs x NikeCraft Mars Yard 2.5 Kit

Kicking off the NikeCraft Wear Tester Program, has begun sending out kits for the Tom Sachs x NikeCraft Mars Yard 2.5 to those luckily chosen. Aside from a pair of the upcoming shoe in their size, wear testers receive an ID badge specially marked with their details and image, along with a short-sleeve NikeCraft T-shirt emblazoned with their name. An important element of the kit is a pocket-sized NikeCraft Wear Tester Tom Sachs Ten Bullets Notebook for writing down daily impressions while wearing the shoes to provide feedback to aid in the updating of the shoe. Finally, each kit comes with a rugged Dyneema composite fabric shoe bag to store and carry the shoes around.

Tom Sachs x Nike Mars Yard 2.5 Weartesters Have Been Chosen

Following the launch of Tom Sachs' Nike Mars Yard 2.0 exclusively in kids' sizing last month, the coveted kicks will reportedly receive another limited release next year. Thanks to leaker account Ovrnundr, the 2020 version of the model features new and improved materials from its predecessor, but will retain all of its signature details including a mesh base upper brown suede overlays and red Swoosh on the sides. According to the post, the upcoming launch is also expected to be limited to only 8,000 pairs.

The latest iteration of the prized Mars Yard shoe line, the 2.5 features a distinct black rubber toe-cap, further protecting the footwear from the rugged trails they were intended to cover. This variation of the Mars Yard 2.5 spotted on its creator’s feet does not feature the standard SFB sole seen in either the original nor the 2.0 and Overshoe, but rather that of the more elegantly shaped ACG Mountain Fly – a hiking shoe released under the Nike ACG product line and designed by Nathan Van Hook.
