Tom Kenny to Reprise Narrator Role in The CW’s Powerpuff Girls Series

Tom Kenny to reprise narrator role in The CW’s Powerpuff. Original cast member of The Powerpuff Girls animated series Tom Kenny (SpongeBob SquarePants) will be reprising his role of the Narrator in the live-action CW series Powerpuff. Kenny lent his voice to many roles of the original animated show’s run including the Mayor and Snake. Per Deadline, Robyn Lively also joins the cast as Sara Bellum, the warm and witty career woman who was always a friend to the Powerpuff Girls, remaining close to them since they were crime-fighting kids. Sara was originally voiced by Jennifer Martin in the original series. Kenny and Bellum join recently announced cast members Donald Faison as Professor Utonium and Nicholas Podanny as Mojo Jojo Jr.

Powerpuff Girls Casts Robyn Lively As Sara Bellum, Tom Kenny As Narrator

The CW Is currently recreating the adventures of Townsville with their live-action take on The Powerpuff Girls, and two big casting announcements have landed that bring back a key player from the animated series past, while also adding a new actor to the roster to fill out the new series. As Deadline reports, Tom Kenny, who is most famous for his role as Nickelodeon's Spongebob Squarepants, will be returning as "The Narrator" who was a part of the original animated series, while Robyn Lively will be taking on the role of Sara Bellum, the assistant to Townsville's mayor.

Robyn Lively, iconic star of Teen Witch and half-sister of Gossip Girl‘s Blake Lively, will embody Sara Bellum in the network’s live-action pilot, our sister site Deadline reports. As fans of the original Powerpuff Girls cartoon will recall, Miss Bellum was the Mayor’s right-hand woman, though we never truly got to see her face.
