Tom Izzo

Tom Izzo is an American college-level basketball coach who currently coaches the basketball team of ‘Michigan State University.’ Born and raised in the Iron Mountain area of Michigan, Tom played basketball ever since he was a child. Occasionally he also played with Steve Mariucci, who currently serves as a head coach in the ‘National Basketball Association’ (NBA). Following his graduation from the ‘Northern Michigan University,’ Tom began working as a basketball coach at the ‘Ishpeming High School.’ He then had a stint as an assistant coach at the ‘Northern Michigan University.’ After a brief spell as an assistant coach at the ‘University of Tulsa,’ Tom joined ‘Michigan State University’ as the head coach in 1995. Along with being the longest-running head coach of a university team in the ‘Big Ten Conference,’ he has also been recognized as the coach with the most number of wins for ‘Michigan State University.’ As a coach, he has led his team to the ‘National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Championship,’ along with nine ‘Big Tens.’ During his 24-year tenure with ‘Michigan State University,’ he has won four ‘Coach of the Year’ trophies. He has also been inducted into the ‘Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.’
