In the mid 1990s, New Jersey native Todd Edwards exerted such a major influence over the UK garage scene -- via pioneering a type of sampling -- that Daft Punk shouted him out on their 1997 track "Teachers." "Todd Edwards in the house," goes the song, which places Edwards amongst other electronic world royalty like Green Velvet, DJ Sneak, Kenny Dope, Louie Vega and Jeff Mills.

A Fatboy Slim classic has been given the remix treatment. As part of an upcoming remix collection, titled 'Everybody Loves a Remix', garage legend Todd Edwards has reworked Fatboy's 1998 single 'The Rockafeller Skank'. The bouncing house rework - which will be released this Friday, 22nd October - will be followed by various other remixes from A-class artists, which will be released every two weeks.

BBC Radio 1's long-running Residency show is relaunching with a new line-up, format and timeslot. Having previously selected eight DJs every six months to each host a monthly one-hour-long radio show on Sunday nights, the Residency will now see two DJs host four one-hour-long radio shows each month, with six being selected for the three months ahead every three months.
