Sixers' Tobias Harris Praises Tyrese Maxey After Game 6 Performance

Unlikely heroes have become a common theme for the Sixers in their Eastern Conference semifinal matchup with the Hawks. In Game 6 on Friday, it was rookie Tyrese Maxey. Things did not get off to a perfect start for the Sixers on Friday. On top of a slow start offensively, two starters found themselves in foul trouble. With Ben Simmons and Tobias Harris on the bench, Doc Rivers called on Tyrese Maxey to provide a spark off the bench.

'Missing person' Tobias Harris flyer spotted in Philly

After the Sixers' embarrassingly bad loss to the Hawks in Game 5, Philly sports fans have officially reached "We are not okay" mode. While there was plenty of blame to go around, most of it fell on two-thirds of the team's Big Three failing to produce at all in a crucial game. We've covered Sixers fans crushing Ben Simmons ad nauseum, but don't think Tobias Harris is getting off scot-free.

76ers' Tobias Harris: Bounces back in Game 6

Harris registered 24 points (9-20 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 4-4 FT), five rebounds and two assists across 39 minutes in Friday's win over the Hawks. Harris was woeful in Game 5 (four points, 2-11 FG), but he bounced back admirably and finished Friday's game as one of the top scorers for the Sixers. Considering Harris has scored at least 20 points in all but two of his playoff appearances this season, the struggles of Game 5 might have been nothing more than an outlier and an off night for the veteran forward. He's averaging 18.7 points per game on the current series while shooting 51.1 percent from the field and 40 percent from three-point range.

During the series, most of the attention has gone to big-name stars Trae Young, Joel Embiid or Ben Simmons. However, one of the most important players from the entire postseason, Tobias Harris, is a signing that many Sixers fans originally detested.
