Radiohead fans, take note! Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood have teamed up with drummer Tom Skinner for a new side project called The Smile. Radiohead’s Thom Yorke and Johnny Greenwood debuted their new project The Smile during the Glastonbury Live At Worthy Farm global livestream on May 22. Named after the Ted Hughes poem, the band played their first set together with Yorke on guitar, bass, Moog and Rhodes piano, during the five-hour Glastonbury livestream, also featuring performances by Coldplay, Idles, Wolf Alice, Haim, and a spoken word by PJ Harvey and Jarvis Cocker.

Glastonbury announced a surprise headliner for its Live at Worthy Farm streaming event on Saturday (May 22): the Smile, a new band made up of Radiohead’s Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood, and drummer Tom Skinner (Sons of Kemet). The event was ticketed, but after technical difficulties the organizers opened the stream up to the public. The Smile joined the stream between sets from Jorja Smith and Kano. The Live at Worthy Farm livestream has ended, but you can check out the Smile’s setlist and watch performances of “We Don’t Know What Tomorrow Brings” and “Thin Thing” below.

Radiohead members Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood have formed a new band titled The Smile with jazz drummer Tom Skinner. The group – whose name is derived from a Ted Hughes poem – will debut their new project at this weekend’s virtual Glastonbury show, which is being livestreamed on Saturday (22 May) then again on Sunday. They will perform “a first-ever set of new, original music” during the virtual show, which starts at 7pm.
