What stories get told about that neighborhood and what legacy does it have for the kids who grew up there? Sometimes that legacy is told by outsiders. But here is a story of a community, related by one of its cherished members. A person with a tremendous legacy, who grew up in the Colonia and Rose Park neighborhoods of Oxnard.

Terry Willard Pendleton, 66, of Mt. Vernon, died at 6:02 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 20, at Roaring River Health and Rehabilitation Center in Cassville. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 27, at Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. A private family burial will be held at the Pritchett Cemetery.
