One of Nebraska’s recent reported hires now appears to have a title. Terrance Knighton, previously an assistant defensive line coach with the Carolina Panthers, changed his Twitter bio on Tuesday to read, “Nebraska defensive line coach,” the first somewhat official clue of Knighton’s role on the staff. Knighton's Twitter profile picture was also changed to show him in a Nebraska hat.
Now that Nebraska has hired Matt Rhule as the new head coach, the question now is who will Rhule add to his staff? One of those questions may be announced. Terrance Knighton, who is a former defensive lineman in the NFL, looks like he is becoming a part of Rhule’s new staff although an official announcement hasn’t been made yet by the school.
The Panthers have seen extensive staff turnover this season. A handful of Matt Rhule‘s assistants are no longer with the team. Former nose tackle Terrance Knighton represents the latest departure. A couple of Panthers assistants will be joining former Panthers head coach Matt Rhule on the Nebraska coaching staff. Joseph Person of TheAthletic.com reported on Sunday that assistant defensive line coach Terrance Knighton and assistant strength coach Corey Campbell would be leaving the Panthers immediately in order to move to Lincoln with Rhule. Both Knighton and Campbell have changed their Twitter bios to reflect their new employer.
