SEATTLE, WASH. – Major League Soccer today announced Sounders FC goalkeeper Stefan Frei has claimed the 2021 MLS Save of the Year presented by Allstate for his save in Seattle’s match against Real Salt Lake on September 18. It marks the second career Save of the Year award for Frei after also earning the honor in 2018. Frei posted three saves on the night as the Sounders battled back from an early 1-0 deficit to secure a point.
