Sky Brown is a talented young skateboarder from Japan who participated in the 2016 Vans US Open Pro Series, becoming the youngest ever girl to compete in the event. She has earned a lot of attention within a short time, all because of her impeccable skateboarding skills at such a young age! She started skateboarding the age of three after seeing her father doing it. It didn’t take her long to pick up the skills she needed to participate in competitive events. Besides being a skateboarder, the young girl is also a talented dancer who can pull off some amazing dance moves. In 2018, Brown took part in the dance television show, ‘Dancing with the Stars: Juniors,’ which she ended up winning. The talented skateboarder from Miyazaki is now working hard to earn a place in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Life hasn’t changed much for Sky Brown since the Tokyo Olympics. At home in Los Angeles she has found something resembling routine: up early to surf the Californian waves where she can lose herself for three or four hours if the water’s good; back for breakfast before school, then out skating until dark with friends at Venice Beach or the giant Huntingdon skate park, trying to learn a new trick. Sky Brown has jet-lag, but you wouldn't know it. The 13-year-old is alive with bright-eyed enthusiasm, eager to discuss her Olympic triumphs, her fresh accolade as BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year and, yes, her great love: skateboarding. The world's youngest professional skateboarder is also pretty enthused to be in the UK. "It's just so nice to be back in London and hear British voices," she says. " It feels like being home."
