Shimon Prokupecz Promoted to CNN Senior Crime and Justice Correspondent

Shimon Prokupecz has been promoted to CNN Senior Crime and Justice Correspondent. An Emmy award-winning journalist, Prokupecz became a prominent figure in news circles earlier this year for his dogged questioning of local law enforcement in the days (and months) after the Uvalde, Texas deadly school shooting, where a gunman stormed into the elementary school and killed 19 children and two teachers inside two adjoining classrooms. He has led CNN’s months-long coverage of the horrific event, breaking news and garnering numerous exclusives which eventually resulted in the review of law enforcement and school officials’ roles in the tragedy.
