Ahead Of S.W.A.T.’s 100th Episode, Shemar Moore Shares Thoughts On Why The CBS Show Has Been So Successful
CBS cop procedural S.W.A.T. is getting ready to air its milestone 100th episode, and fans are sure to be excited. Not only that, the series was recently renewed for a sixth season, so it seems like 20-Squad won't be slowing down any time soon. But before all of that, though, lead star Shemar Moore shared his thoughts on why the series has been successful over the years.
Shemar Moore is celebrating another career milestone: reaching 100 episodes of CBS' S.W.A.T., which airs Sunday. "It's a big deal because television has changed so much. And now people are watching television differently, especially the youngsters. They're on their phones, on smart phones, on their iPads and all. The days of running home to watch Miami Vice on Friday night and The Cosby Show on Thursday night and Arsenio Hall [are long gone]," Moore told ET's Nischelle Turner during an exclusive sit-down in March. "But just to do episodes, especially our show, is so big. I feel like we're making a movie made for TV every week."
Shemar Moore has been a CBS mainstay for more than a decade thanks first to Criminal Minds and now S.W.A.T., and now fans are guaranteed at least one more season of Moore decked out in tactical gear to play Hondo. S.W.A.T. has officially been renewed for Season 6. In light of the good news, the star has a message for fans, and it's not just "LET'S ROLL!"
Paramount+ is officially moving forward with a Criminal Minds revival, and fans have been wondering if Shemar Moore will return for the new series. In February, it was announced that the Criminal Minds revival is in active development. According to Deadline, at least six of the show's original stars are returning: Joe Mantegna, Kirsten Vangsness, Adam Rodriguez, A.J. Cook, Aisha Tyler and Paget Brewster. Currently, Moore is not set to come back as FBI Supervisory Special Agent Derek Morgan of the Behavioral Analysis Unit, as he was not included in the list of stars who are officially returning.
