Vanderbilt women's basketball signed a five-player class during the early signing period, the program announced Wednesday. The players include Bailey Gilmore, a 6-foot-3 forward from Midway, Ga.; Madison Greene, a 5-foot-6 guard from Reynoldsburg, Ohio; Aga Makurat, a 6-foot-2 guard from Poland; Aiyana Mitchell, a 6-foot-4 forward from Fountain, Colo.; and Khamil Pierre, a 6-foot-2 forward from Queen Creek, Ariz.

New Vanderbilt coach Shea Ralph undertook a major rebuilding project in April when the Commodores named the former UConn assistant coach as their choice to lead the women's basketball program, and the returning players for 2021-22 account for just 27 points per game. But the process of identifying a go-to scorer, assigning roles and developing basketball skills was not necessarily the top priority for Ralph and her staff over the offseason, she said Friday.
