Finally, some Marvel casting news to actually get excited about. While every scion from Hollywood’s inner circle is getting cast in Sony’s newest Spider-Man-adjacent project, Disney+ is shaking things up in the best way possible. Deadline just revealed that RuPaul’s Drag Race star Shea Couleé is joining the Marvel Cinematic (and streaming) Universe thanks to a new role in the upcoming series, Ironheart.

Superhero of drag Shea Couleé is now officially a part of Marvel's superhero realm. EW has confirmed that the RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars 7 finalist has boarded Disney+'s upcoming Ironheart TV show as a series regular, though sources close to the project could not confirm the exact role she will play or if the All Stars 5 winner will be in or out of drag.

Ironheart has added a champion to its cast, with RuPaul's Drag Race winner Shea Coulée joining the series. Her role is currently under wraps, per Deadline. Dominique Thorne (Judas and the Black Messiah) leads the cast of Marvel's Disney+ series as Riri Williams/Ironheart, following her initial appearance as the character in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever later this year.

"Beyond excited to be strutting out of the Werkroom right into the Marvel Cinematic Universe," Couleé said in a Twitter post regarding the announcement. "Words cannot express how excited I am to be a part of this amazing project!" Couleé continued by noting "Acting was my first love, and I'm thrilled to be doing it again in such a big way!"

With a musical performance reminiscent of Janet Jackson in both style and stamina, looks that made RuPaul gag, and a stellar lip sync of Kylie Minogue’s “Supernova,” Shea Couleé earned her rightful spot in the season seven finale of Ru Paul’s Drag Race All Stars. Though the crown ultimately went to Jinx Monsoon, the experience felt like a graduation for the 33-year-old entertainer. “I feel like I’ve graduated and I’m stepping into a whole other arena” she said of her three season stint in the franchise. Last Friday, Couleé released “Your Name,” a groovy Disco banger that marks a new era for the Warsaw, Indiana native.
