Before winning last weekend's Azerbaijan Grand Prix, he admitted that there was no point in expecting Red Bull to adapt its ‘difficult’ car to suit him; he would have to adapt himself to it.

Sergio Perez Wins A Thriller In Baku

Sergio Perez has taken his first win for Red Bull Racing, winning a thriller around the streets of Baku on a day of mixed emotions for his team. While Perez was celebrating, there was heartbreak for his teammate Max Verstappen who had been cruising to victory until a tyre failure put him into the wall and out of the race, costing the Dutchman certain victory.

We had a good start, made some positions and looked after our tyres. We had really good pace at the [first] restart, which was brilliant for me, giving me another two positions. We preserved the tyres well and that was the secret to the pace we had. It was a great day overall. I’m over the moon for myself and for the team, it was great. A podium - we really didn’t expect that.”
