Snyder, the son of legendary K-State head football coach Bill Snyder, moves to Champaign from USC. In 2020, USC’s special teams were ranked No.1 by Football Outsider.

Kansas State Ring of Honor inaugural inductee and long-time assistant coach Sean Snyder has a new coaching home. After spending the 2020 and 2021 seasons at USC, Snyder (the son of hall of fame former K-State coach Bill Snyder) is headed to Illinois, where he’ll serve as special teams coordinator and specialists coach under former teammate and co-assistant coach Brett Bielema.

Fitz continues his series that looks at the members of the Kansas State football Ring of Honor at Bill Snyder Family Stadium by reviewing the importance of punter Sean Snyder to the development of the program. As Fitz explains, Sean, the son of coach Bill Snyder, transferred to K-State from Iowa and played in the 1991 and 1992 season, becoming the school's first All-American in 15 years with his outstanding performance in '92. Sean was much more than the Coach's son, he played a critical role in helping the program grow and usher in its 11-year bowl string starting in 1993.
