History-making kicker Sarah Fuller discussed why she’s running the Boston Marathon

For Sarah Fuller, the idea of leaving her comfort zone to compete in another extremely demanding sport is not exactly a new concept. Fuller, 22, made history in 2020 when the then-Vanderbilt women’s soccer goalkeeper was asked to play for the football team as a placekicker. She became the first woman to play — and score points — for a Power 5 conference team.
