Sara McMann vs. Aspen Ladd rescheduled for UFC Vegas 60 on Sept. 17

A bantamweight fight between Sara McMann and Aspen Ladd has been rescheduled for the upcoming UFC Vegas 60 card scheduled on Sept. 17 at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas. Multiple people with knowledge of the promotion’s plans confirmed the news to MMA Fighting on Thursday with agreements in place from both athletes.

Aspen Ladd out of UFC San Diego bout with Sara McMann

Aspen Ladd will not be fighting at UFC San Diego. Ladd has been forced out of her scheduled matchup against Sara McMann later this month after contracting COVID-19, sources confirmed to MMA Fighting on Monday. The promotion is looking into possible replacements for Ladd, or potentially at rescheduling the bout for a later date, but nothing has been secured at this time.

Sara McMann announces Aspen Ladd out of UFC San Diego fight

Sara McMann announced on Monday that her bantamweight fight with Aspen Ladd is off. McMann (13-6 MMA, 7-6 UFC) and Ladd (9-3 MMA, 4-3 UFC) were booked to square off Aug. 13 at UFC Fight Night in San Diego, but McMann said on Instagram that Ladd has been forced to withdraw after testing positive for COVID-19 with less than two weeks to go.

Lock Haven native Sara McMann honored at the National Wrestling Hall of Fame

STILLWATER OK – Last Saturday saw Sara McMann recognized as a distinguished member of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame, Class of 2022. The Lock Haven native was a member of the first United States Olympic women’s wrestling team in 2004 and the first American woman to reach the Olympic finals, defeating a world champion and a world bronze medalist enroute to a silver medal at the Athens games. She is one of a few wrestlers to defeat Japanese legend Kaori lcho, who was undefeated from 2003 to 2016 and isconsidered the greatest women’s wrestler of all time winning four Olympic gold medals and 10 World Championships.
