The Routt baseball team lost its race with the weather, falling to Camp Point Central 4-0 in a regional championship game in Jacksonville Monday afternoon. Camp Point Central starting pitcher Peyton Clampitt held the Rockets scoreless on only one hit through five and one-third innings. Routt’s plan coming in was to get Clampitt out of the game, and the Rockets were taking good at-bats and making him throw a lot of pitches. It was working. Clampitt seemed to be running out of steam late in the game and was on his 112th pitch when the contest was finally called due to rain.
