Predators' Ryan Johansen: Pockets helper

Johansen managed an assist, two shots on net, three hits and four PIM in Monday's 5-2 loss to the Hurricanes in Game 1. Johansen set up Filip Forsberg for the opening goal at 12:14 of the first period. The 28-year-old Johansen struggled with only 22 points in 48 regular-season games, his lowest output since he had 12 points in 40 contests in 2012-13, a lockout-shortened campaign. Despite the poor season, Johansen has remained in a top-six role for the Predators.

Predators' Ryan Johansen: Two points against former club

Johansen scored a power-play goal and added an even-strength assist in Monday's 4-3 overtime win over the Blue Jackets. Facing the team that selected him fourth overall in the 2010 draft, Johansen helped set up Filip Forsberg for the game's opening goal midway through the second period before lighting the lamp himself a few minutes later. Johansen mostly has had a sluggish season though, scoring only six goals and 20 points through 45 games.

Predators' Ryan Johansen: Slides pair of assists

Johansen produced two assists, went plus-4 and won 15 of 22 faceoffs in Tuesday's 7-2 win over the Lightning. Johansen set up tallies by Viktor Arvidsson and Rocco Grimaldi in the contest. The 28-year-old Johansen saw his goal drought extend to nine games, and he's posted just three assists in that time. He's at 15 points, 52 shots on net and a plus-1 rating in 36 appearances overall, falling short of the low scoring pace of last's year 36-point output in 68 games.

Predators' Ryan Johansen: Good to go

Johansen (undisclosed) will play in Saturday's game versus the Blackhawks, per the NHL's official media site. Johansen has recorded 14 points through 30 games. He's expected to center the first line in Saturday's clash.

Predators' Ryan Johansen: Missed shifts in Thursday's game

Johansen (undisclosed) missed some shifts in Thursday's 4-1 loss to the Stars, Robby Stanley of NHL.com reports. Johansen was never reported to have gone to the locker room during play, but apparently he was bothered by something. It doesn't seem like the 28-year-old center is battling anything major, but fantasy managers will want to check on his status before Saturday's game versus the Blackhawks.

Predators' Ryan Johansen: Lights lamp early

Johansen tallied a goal on three shots and dished out a pair of hits in Saturday's 3-1 win over Chicago. Johansen opened the scoring just over five minutes into the game, finding himself all alone in front and converting an Eeli Tolvanen centering feed. It was just the fourth goal of the season for Johansen, who has scored either 14 or 15 in each of the previous four seasons. It's been a disappointing season for the 28-year-old, but he's capable of helping fantasy managers down the stretch if he can produce a hot streak or two.

Predators' Ryan Johansen: One of each Sunday

Johansen scored a power-play goal and added an assist in Sunday's 4-3 shootout win over the Stars. Johansen got the Predators on the board in the first period, and he also set up Filip Forsberg's second-period tally. Sunday marked Johansen's first multi-point effort this season. The center has recorded three goals, 11 points, 36 shots on net and a minus-3 rating through 24 outings.

Predators' Ryan Johansen: Lights lamp late in third

Johansen scored a goal on three shots and was a dominant 16-5 (76.2 percent) on faceoffs in Thursday's 5-4 loss to Florida. After going his first 14 games without a goal, Johansen finally got the monkey off his back with an extra-attacker tally late in the third, knocking home a rebound to round out the scoring. Johansen produced goal totals of 14, 15, 14 and 14 in his first four full seasons in Nashville, but he'll have to do some heavy lifting to return to that pace in 2020-21.

Johansen was placed in the NHL's COVID-19 protocol Tuesday. Johansen will miss Tuesday's game versus the Hurricanes as a result. Predators' Ryan Johansen: Kept quiet in return

Johansen (upper body) skated 15:48, blocked two shots and added a shot on goal in Tuesday's 2-0 win over the Red Wings. Johansen wasn't able to contribute directly to the offense in his return from injury. He missed seven games while battling an upper-body injury. The 28-year-old has just four helpers, 17 shots on net and an even plus-minus rating in 11 appearances. He started Tuesday on the third line, but he'll probably work his way into the top-six in the near future.

Predators' Ryan Johansen: Could return soon

Johansen (upper body) is nearing a return to action and could be available as soon as Tuesday's matchup with Detroit, Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site reports. Johansen has already been sidelined for the club's last seven games due to his upper-body issue but appears to be trending in the right direction. In his 10 appearances this season, Johansen is still searching for his first goal of the year while putting just 16 shots on net. In order to suit up, Johansen will need to be activated off injured reserve.

Predators' Ryan Johansen: Still sidelined

Johansen (upper body) isn't in the projected lineup for Saturday's game against Columbus. Johansen will miss a seventh straight game Saturday and remains without a definitive timetable for his return to action. He's picked up four helpers through 10 games this campaign.

Ryan Johansen questionable for series with Blue Jackets

While the Predators are likely disappointed with having to have two of their games postponed as a result of the rough weather in Dallas, it did allow them to avoid having to play those contests without one of their top forwards. In an appearance on ESPN 102.5 (audio link), GM David Poile indicated that center Ryan Johansen is questionable for their upcoming pair of games in Columbus, signaling that the veteran wouldn’t have been available against the Stars. The 28-year-old is averaging nearly 18 minutes a game so far this season (fourth-most among Nashville forwards) but is struggling offensively with just four assists although he has been one of the better players at the faceoff dot, winning over 56% of his draws.
