Blue Jays: Happy Birthday to the late, great Roy Halladay

The Toronto Blue Jays Hall of Famer who tragically passed away in 2017 would have been 45 years old today. May 14, 1977 Harry Leroy Halladay the Third was born in Denver, Colorado to his parents Linda and Roy the Second. His dad saw so much talent in his son that he ensured that there was a 60 foot 6 inch space in their home basement in Armada, Colorado. Roy would meet a Colorado sports legend by the name of Bus Campbell when he was 13 and his path was almost set.

Marcus Hayes: James Harden, Joel Embiid dominate for Sixers in biggest Philly debut since Roy Halladay

Feb. 26—The Beard blew up the most anticipated debut of a Philadelphia athlete in a dozen years. Bigger than Bryce. Bigger than Carson. Think, T.O. As Ben Simmons remains inactive with Brooklyn, James Harden wrote his first chapter of Sixers lore Friday in Minnesota, his balky hamstring healed, his wandering heart happy, and his skills fully intact at the age of 32. He'd been traded for the second time in 14 months just 15 days prior, but he'd been pursued by Sixers president Daryl Morey for more than a year, so it seemed like a lot longer than 15 days.

Blue Jays' Kevin Gausman plans to wear No. 34 in honour of Roy Halladay

New signing Kevin Gausman already has something in common with Toronto Blue Jays faithful: a deep admiration for franchise legend Roy Halladay. Gausman grew up idolizing Halladay as a fellow Colorado native, and said when introduced as a Blue Jay on Wednesday that he plans to wear No. 34 in Halladay's honour. While Doc's No. 32 is retired by Toronto, the No. 34 he wore as a member of the Philadelphia Phillies is available.
