The kids would politely tell them their dad was Bob Wagner. Not Butch, the legendary sports editor of the Sandusky Register. We all loved Uncle Butch, but it bothered Bob’s son Mike that his dad seemed to live in his uncle’s shadow. So, one day, Mike asked his dad if this bothered him too. “I love being Butch’s brother. Why would that bother me?” he said. “I’m happy being just Bob.”

The death of actress Natalie Wood is one of Hollywood's mysteries. On November 29, 1981, Wood's body was found floating in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Catalina Island. The actress spent the Thanksgiving weekend aboard a yacht, the Splendour, with her husband, Robert Wagner; her co-star, Christopher Walken; and the yacht's captain, Dennis Davern (via Biography). The following day, the medical examiner who performed Wood's autopsy declared that her cause of death was accidental drowning. She was 45 years old.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has cleared Robert Wagner in its investigation into the death of his late wife Natalie Wood. “All leads in the Natalie Wood case have been exhausted, and the case remains an open, unsolved case,” Lt. Robert N. Wagner, age 89 years, of La Crosse, Kansas passed away on Saturday morning, May 7, 2022 at Locust Grove Village Care Center in La Crosse. Robert was born on July 7, 1932 at La Crosse, Kansas to Adam and Dorothy (Seuser) Wagner. He served in the U.S. Army for two years. Robert was an educator and taught at Barton County Community College in Great Bend, Kansas for many years where he developed the Auto Mechanics Program.
