Frederick Allan ‘Rick’ Moranis, popularly known as Rick Moranis, is a Canadian television and film actor, as well as a Grammy nominated musician. After struggling as a radio disc jockey, he tasted success for the first time in his entertainment career in 1980s with his appearance in one of the lead roles in the Canadian sketch comedy series, ‘Second City Television’. After this, Moranis started getting more and more opportunities to play lead roles in Hollywood comedy movies and he made best use of the chance he got - he made a name for himself as a comedian by working in movies like, ‘Ghostbusters’, Honey, I Shrunk the Kids’, ‘Flintstones’, ‘Parenthood’, etc. He is also a voice over artist and has given his voice to many memorable ‘Disney’ characters. Moranis pulled out of movies during the late 1990s, owing to the untimely demise of his wife and returned back after a few years, only to work sporadically.

Ten years later, he made his first on-screen appearance in an episode of The Goldbergs when he reprised his role of Dark Helmet from Spaceballs. Moranis is often a hot topic of conversation and made headlines last year when Ryan Reynolds brought him out of his long retirement for a Mint Mobile commercial. The actor is also expected to reprise his role from Honey, I Shrunk the Kids in Disney+'s Shrunk. Recently, another iconic Moranis role came up when director Frank Oz spoke with The Hollywood Reporter. Oz directed Moranis in the iconic movie musical, Little Shop of Horrors.
