More men seek to hold Ohio State Buckeyes accountable for handling of mistreatment by Richard Strauss

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Dozens more men are suing Ohio State over the university's failure to stop sexual abuse and misconduct decades ago by team doctor Richard Strauss. They echo claims filed previously by over 400 men, many of whom allege they were groped during required medical exams or while seeking treatment for unrelated ailments. New claims in two lawsuits from at least 39 plaintiffs were filed in federal court ahead of Monday, which marked two years since a report from a law firm investigation concluded university employees were aware of concerns about Strauss as early as 1979 but didn't stop him.

Two former Ohio State students join legal fight against university over Dr. Richard Strauss’ sexual abuse

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Two former Ohio State University students have joined the long-standing legal fight over a rogue doctor accused of abusing students and athletes. Alonzo Shavers and Kenneth McHone filed a civil-rights lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Columbus that alleges the university “had actual notice of and was deliberately indifferent to the fact” that Dr. Richard Strauss had inappropriately touched and abused hundreds of students during examinations. Strauss committed suicide in 2005.
