Renée Fleming, Diana Damrau, Angela Gheorghiu, Benjamin Bernheim, Erin Morley, John Osborn Lead Opéra National de Bordeaux’s 2021-22 Season

Opéra National de Bordeaux has announced its rich 2021-22 season. For the purpose of this article we will focus only on vocal performances. A semi-staged version of Meyerbeer‘s “Robert Le Diable” opens the season. The opera stars Erin Morley, Nicolas Courjal, Amina Edris, Nicolas Darmanin, Joel Allison, Paco Garcia, and John Osborn in the title role. Marc Minkowski conducts a production by Luc Birraux.

The Edinburgh International Festival has announced its 2021 slate. For the purposes of this article, we will only focus on operatic or vocal performances. Opening the season will be “A Grand Night of Singing” starring Danielle de Niese, Kim Criswell, Anna-Jane Casey, Damian Humbley, and Richard Morrison. Wayne Marshall leads the Edinburgh Festival Ensemble.

Frost School of Music Puts on Live Show with Special Guest Renée Fleming

Live music is back at the University of Miami! On Saturday, Frost School of Music students put on their first major show since the pandemic started. Nearly 200 students showed off their talents at the socially distanced outdoor show, called Frost Music Fest ’21, playing all genres of music from jazz to Latin to pop to classical. Renée Fleming to Perform at The Shed in New York City

Renée Fleming is set to perform at The Shed as part of the hall’s reopening schedule. The soprano will perform at the New York City Hall on April 21 for a live audience at 8 p.m. Last week The Shed announced “An Audience with…,” a five-night indoor performance series from April 2 to 22 produced in accordance with New York State health guidelines.

“An Audience with…,” a live music and comedy series, will kick off next month at The Shed at Hudson Yards. The series will initially feature singer and cellist Kelsey Lu on April 2, musicians from the New York Philharmonic on April 14 and 15, soprano Renée Fleming on April 21 and comedian Michelle Wolf on April 22. The series will take place in the Shed’s flexible 18,000-square-foot McCourt space with a state-of-the-art MERV ventilation system, 115-foot-high ceilings, and distanced seating for 150 people.
