After an atrocious shooting game against the Warriors in Game 3 on Sunday, Dallas Mavericks wing Reggie Bullock went off for 18 points and a half-dozen three-pointers on Tuesday night.

Dallas Mavericks forward Reggie Bullock has been named the league's 2021-22 Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Social Justice Champion, the NBA announced on Sunday. Bullock becomes the second recipient of the award behind Carmelo Anthony, who won a season ago. Bullock was one of five finalists for the award along with Milwaukee Bucks guard Jrue Holiday, Memphis Grizzlies forward Jaren Jackson Jr., Minnesota Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns and Toronto Raptors guard Fred VanVleet.

Bullock was selected from a group of five finalists for his dedication to pursuing social justice and advancing Abdul-Jabbar’s life mission to engage, empower and drive equality for individuals and groups who have been historically marginalized or systemically disadvantaged, specifically within the LGBTQ+ community.

Reggie Bullock has been making plays on the court for the Dallas Mavericks throughout this year’s NBA Playoffs, but it’s what the UNC basketball alumnus has been doing off the court that’s been getting attention. On Sunday, the NBA named Bullock the recipient of the 2022 Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Social Justice Champion Award.

The veteran sharpshooter has been a staunch supporter of LGBTQ rights throughout his 10-year NBA career.

According to the league, the award celebrates players who have made strides in fighting for social justice and advocating for equality.
