Shannon went 28-22 in four seasons as the Hurricanes head coach from 2007-2010. He most recently served as defensive coordinator at UCF for three seasons. It will be the latest stop on a circuitous career path around the state for Shannon. He was a starting linebacker for the Hurricanes’ 1987 national title team and started his coaching career in Miami, first for his alma mater and then for the Dolphins. He won two national titles as a ‘Canes assistant and went 28-22 as their head coach from 2007-10.
