Was Rahul Kohli almost in Star Wars?

Modern-day Star Wars is great for numerous reasons—the storytelling, the fantastical worlds, the feeling of what it would be like to be traveling the stars. It’s one of the few properties that I genuinely would love to be part of—both in a creative sense and a living sense; it’s one of the reasons I love Galaxy’s Edge as much as I do. Another neat part of the modern-day galaxy far, far away is that those that get to play in that universe are likely fans. They grew up watching the original trilogy and/or the prequel trilogy.

‘Next Exit’ Review: Rahul Kohli and Katie Parker Road Trip Towards Death in Mali Elfman’s Directorial Debut | Fantasia Fest 2022

Melancholic explorations of our mere, mortal existence are nothing new. Yet, it is growing increasingly evident that the global crisis we were thrust into two years ago has cast a long, dark shadow over the niche genre that seeks to make sense of life, and death, and everything in-between. Mali Elfman’s directorial debut Next Exit, sets out on a journey towards death, but along the way, it is filled to the brim with life and questioning about what it is to really live. What’s fascinating is that Elfman penned the script over a ten-year period, yet it so perfectly encapsulates the here-and-now.

Rahul Kohli Would Rather be in the DCEU Despite Calls to Play Mister Fantastic

Marvel Studios' made a lot of fans extremely happy when they finally cast John Krasinski as Mister Fantastic in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Star Wars Legend Mark Hamill is Against Rahul Kohli 'Babysitting' Grogu

It goes without saying that Baby Yoda has become one of the faces of modern-day Star Wars and both in fiction and in real life, people can't seem to get enough of the Force-wielding fellow. In the MandoVerse, Grogu has been in the care of both Din Djarin and Luke Skywalker and while it looked like the Child was on his way to fulfill his Jedi destiny, he still chose to be with his "original" father-figure.

Next Exit Star Rahul Kohli Talks Confronting the Afterlife in Genre-Bending New Film

Actor Rahul Kohli's breakout role came in The CW series iZombie, an adaptation of the comic book series of the same name. Understandably, the title alone confirms how the narrative embraced a horrifying premise, but anyone who watched the series knows that horror was only part of it, as the premise paved the way for a variety of different narratives to be explored. His latest film, Next Exit, once again sees Kohli taking part in a project that could surely lean heavily into more horrifying elements, only for the actual film to blend together drama, comedy, and fantasy in the wake of its unsettling premise. Next Exit makes its premiere this weekend at the Tribeca Film Festival.
