England defender Rachel Daly said it will be "hard for me" if she makes her 50th appearance at Elland Road without her dad in attendance. Her father died in September before England's 10-0 win over Luxembourg, in which Daly scored and wore a wrist band with the word 'Dad' on it.

Captain Rachel Daly named to May NWSL Team of the Month presented by Mastercard

The National Women’s Soccer League announced this week that forward Rachel Daly has been named to the Best XI of the Month presented by Mastercard. Daly, who played in every game this regular season, scored in three straight games throughout the month of May to help Houston match its franchise best start to the season. The England international scored four goals and recorded an assist during the month which featured three of five games on the road. Daly capped off the month of May by reaching 100 career regular-season appearances for the Dash on May 29 against North Carolina Courage. Daly became just the second player in franchise history to reach the milestone. Daly has joined the England Women’s National Team as they prepare for the UEFA Women’s Euro tournament held in England this summer.

Houston Dash forward Rachel Daly was named the NWSL Player of the Week, the league announced today. Daly has scored back-to-back braces in her last two outings for Houston. Against Portland, Daly opened the scoring in the 18th minute last Wednesday. Daly then broke the 2-2 tie with Portland by scoring a crucial third, and game-winning goal for Houston. Against North Carolina, Daly scored to give the Dash the 2-1 lead and scored again late in the game to secure the 4-1 victory on Sunday at BBVA Stadium.
