Powell’s Impact Wrestling Hit List: Tony Khan, Scott D’Amore and Don Callis summit, W Morrissey vs. Willie Mack in a No DQ match, Joe Doering vs. Eddie Edwards, Trey Miguel and Petey Williams vs. Chris Bey and Rohit Raju

W Morrissey vs. Willie Mack in a No DQ match: Does it ever work out for the babyfaces in pro wrestling when they ask their friends to stay backstage no matter what happens? Anyway, Morrissey looked strong by getting a win over Rich Swann’s not-so-little-buddy heading into their match at Saturday’s Against All Odds pay-per-view. Morrissey is off to a good start in Impact Wrestling and his match with Swann looks intriguing on paper. Swann has good matches with just about everyone, so it will be interesting to see what type of match he and Morrissey can put together.

Powell’s Impact Wrestling Hit List: Moose and Sami Callihan vs. Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson, Josh Alexander and Petey Williams vs. TJP and Fallah Bahh, W Morrissey talks, Crazzy Steve and Black Taurus vs. Johnny Swinger and Hernandez

W Morrissey: A good sit-down promo. Morrissey wasn’t asked to do a lot of talking during his Big Cass days, so it’s been a nice to see that he has the gift of gab. His character is bitter with the business and that’s helping to lay the foundation of his persona, but I am looking forward to learning whether he can deliver the same strong mic work to set up his matches and feuds.

Powell’s Impact Wrestling Hit List: Juice Robinson and David Finlay vs. Ace Austin and Madman Fulton for the Impact Tag Titles, Jordynne Grace vs. Rachael Ellering, Petey Williams vs. VSK, Rohit Raju vs. Jake Something, Kiera Hogan vs. Tenille Dashwood

Juice Robinson and David Finlay vs. Ace Austin and Madman Fulton for the Impact Tag Titles (Violent By Design cash in the Call Your Shot trophy): The advertised main event was a highly entertaining tag match that would have made for a fine show closing match. I’d be lying if I said I remembered that Rhino had the Call Your Shot trophy when Violent By Design walked out. I assumed VBD were there for a quick beatdown to set up a future match with Robinson and Finlay. Instead, Rhino and Joe Doering used the trophy to get a match against the weary tag champions and made quick work of them. It was a creative way to get the belts off of Robinson and Finlay without doing any damage to them.
