St. Simons Rotary recognizes Paul Taylor

Rotarian, past-president and past-district governor Paul Taylor was recently recognized by St. Simons Rotary as a major donor to the Rotary Foundation. The recognition honors those who have made a cumulative $10,000 donation to the Foundation. District foundation chair, Hamsa Thota, presented Taylor with a crystal recognition piece; his daughter, Martha Taylor Greenway, pinned him with a diamond pin awarded by the foundation.

DCA Coffeehouse Concert Series with Paul Taylor Moves to Livestream

Livestreamed performances continue to have a place. On Feb. 12, Door Community Auditorium (DCA) will welcome multi-instrumentalist Paul Taylor as the first performer in the 2022 Coffeehouse Concert Series. But this year, Taylor – known for music that merges Parliament and Afrobeat with funk, blues and jazz – will perform via livestream.

James "Jim" Paul Taylor

James Paul Taylor, 75, of Minnetrista, MN, passed away on January 22, 2022 after a long battle with stage 4 heart failure. Jim was born on April 16, 1946 to Paul Revere Taylor and Evelyn Dorothea Taylor in Minneapolis, MN. After graduating from Unity High School Balsam Lake, WI in 1965, he went on to study mechanical design drafting in Rice Lake, WI.

January 20: Suite Jazz Series Presents Paul Taylor

Support for Jazz 91.9 WCLK comes from the Suite Food Lounge, located at 375 Luckie Street, home of the Suite Jazz Series. This Thursday, January 20th Saxophonist Paul Taylor performs with The Suite Jazz Series Band. Doors open at 6:30pm and show time is 7:30pm. Taylor will be playing new music from his new album And Now This. Paul has played with artists including Peabo Bryson and The Rippingtons. Experience a rare glimpse into the studios of Paul Taylor Dance Company during an online, behind-the-scenes preview of a new work by Peter Chu. Enjoy the first look into this Northrop Centennial Commission which will include exclusive footage of rehearsal as well as a live Q&A with choreographer Peter Chu and Paul Taylor Dance Company Artistic Director, Michael Novak.
