Oklahoma head coach Patty Gasso was announced as one of the eight inductees to be named to the 2022 Oklahoma Hall of Fame class on Thursday. Gasso was already inducted into the Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame in 2019 and National Fastpitch Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2012. In 27 seasons coaching the Sooners, Gasso has won five national championships and appeared in the Women’s College World Series 14 times.

Oklahoma coach Patty Gasso gave an update on freshman pitcher Jordy Bahl's status on Tuesday. Bahl missed the entire Big 12 Championship last weekend due to arm soreness. Gasso noted on the Oklahoma Breakdown with Ikard and Lehman podcast that Bahl sustained the injury before the Oklahoma State matchup on May 7 in pregame warmups against after she was fielding a ground ball. Once the freshman pitcher threw the ball, she felt immediate pain and couldn’t lift her arm.

NORMAN — OU softball coach Patty Gasso didn’t have much of an update on freshman pitcher Jordy Bahl after Bahl missed last weekend’s Big 12 Tournament with arm soreness. “Still day to day,” Gasso said. “The goal is to get her pain free, and we’re still working in that direction. Lot of different things that we’re trying for her. Doctors are involved as well. So if it’s do-able, it will be done, but we’re not going to do it if it’s (not) comfortable enough for her to do it.”
