Civilians escape Kherson after Russian strikes on freed city

KHERSON, Ukraine (AP) — Fleeing shelling, civilians on Saturday streamed out of the southern Ukrainian city whose recapture they had celebrated just weeks earlier. The exodus from Kherson came as Ukraine solemnly remembered a Stalin-era famine and sought to ensure that Russia’s war in Ukraine doesn’t deprive others worldwide of its vital food exports. A line of trucks, vans and cars, some towing trailers or ferrying out pets and other belongings, stretched a kilometer or more on the outskirts of the city of Kherson. Days of intensive shelling by Russian forces prompted a bittersweet exodus: Many civilians were happy that their city had been won back, but lamented that they couldn’t stay.

DC Studios Co-Head James Gunn Reveals If He's Attending Major Upcoming Convention

James Gunn's latest project, The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, is now streaming on Disney+, and his next Marvel movie, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is hitting theatres next year. However, these will likely be his last projects with Marvel now that he has taken on a bigger role with DC. Gunn, who previously helmed The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker for DC, has been tapped with Peter Safran to be the co-chairs and co-CEOs of DC Studios, a new entity formed to replace the ailing DC Films. Needless to say, Gunn is pretty busy these days, so it's no surprise to learn he won't be attending one of his favorite events.

Mexico remain winless after their first two matches at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, following up their 0-0 draw with Poland by losing 2-0 to Argentina on Saturday. Still, there are big issues, mainly not being able to score a goal in 180 minutes of action. To advance, Mexico have to win and see the Poland vs. Argentina match go their way, but it's complicated.
