Devils' Nathan Bastian: Gets 18 points between Seattle, NJ

Bastian finished the season with 12 goals and six assists over 72 appearances split between New Jersey and Seattle. Bastian started the season with the Kraken, totaling one goal and one assist in 12 games. He was then reunited with the Devils and proceeded to score 11 goals and five assists in 60 appearances for New Jersey. Bastian is a tad more intriguing than your typical 24-year-old bottom-six winger because New Jersey gave him a significant role on the power play, but it's possible that usage on the man advantage will evaporate when the Devils put a healthy roster on the ice next season.

Devils' Nathan Bastian: Still sidelined

Bastian (undisclosed) won't play Saturday versus the Stars, Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site reports. Bastian will miss a third straight contest Saturday, and the Devils have yet to release an expected timetable for his return. He's only picked up 13 points through 62 games this season, so fantasy managers shouldn't need to keep tabs on his status.

Devils' Nathan Bastian: Ruled out versus Habs

Devils' Nathan Bastian: Likely day-to-day

Coach Lindy Ruff expects Bastian to be considered day-to-day with his undisclosed injury, Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site reports. Bastian won't play Tuesday versus the Rangers, but he should be ready to return sooner rather than later. Another update on the 24-year-old winger will presumably surface once he's cleared to rejoin the lineup.

Devils' Nathan Bastian: Tickles twine in loss

Bastian scored a goal on three shots and added three hits in Tuesday's 6-3 loss to the Canucks. Bastian tallied at 11:55 of the second period to get the Devils within a goal, but that was their last goal of the game. The 24-year-old has scored twice in his last four outings, though it remains tough to trust him in a fourth-line role. He's at 11 goals, two assists, 72 shots on net, 156 hits, 61 PIM and a minus-7 rating in 53 games between the Devils and the Kraken this season.

Devils' Nathan Bastian: Inaccurate in loss

Bastian missed all three of his shot attempts and had two hits in Friday's 3-1 loss to the Rangers. Bastian skated just 11:51 in the contest, but he tied for the team lead with 2:57 of power-play ice time. While his role on the top power-play unit is intriguing, Bastian will need to be more accurate with his shots in order to take advantage of the opportunity and snap a point drought that's ballooned to 11 games.

Devils' Nathan Bastian: Deposits goal

Bastian scored a goal on two shots and added four hits in Monday's 6-4 loss to the Maple Leafs. Bastian ended a four-game point drought with his second period tally, but that was it for the Devils' offense. The 24-year-old winger may not show much consistency yet, but he's worked his way into a top-six role in January. The second-round pick from 2016 has nine goals, two assists, 48 shots on net, 111 hits and a minus-2 rating in 37 appearances overall between the Devils and the Kraken this season.

Nathan Bastian Has Found His Role Once Again With the Devils

A familiar face has returned to the New Jersey Devils and is making an immediate impact. Once the Seattle Kraken put Nathan Bastian on waivers, it was a no-brainer the Devils should put a claim in for him. Ever since they did and got him back, the Devils have not only reunited best friends but found something again with having a fourth line that has a physical edge to them but can score too. While Bastian has fit perfectly on the fourth line for the Devils with Michael McLeod and Jimmy Vesey, it is on the power play where Bastian is making more of an impact.

Devils' Nathan Bastian: Lands in COVID-19 protocols

Bastian entered the NHL's COVID-19 protocols Saturday, Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site reports. Bastian will need to submit two negative COVID-19 tests before rejoining his teammates, so he'll miss Saturday's clash with Columbus at a minimum. The Devils are super shorthanded up front at the moment, so they'll likely need to recall several skaters from their taxi squad to fill in against the Blue Jackets.

Devils' Nathan Bastian: Strikes on power play Sunday

Bastian scored a power-play goal on three shots and added three hits in Sunday's 3-2 loss to the Penguins. Bastian's line with Jimmy Vesey and Michael McLeod was hard-matched against Sidney Crosby's line, which left both forward groups fruitless at even strength. Bastian's power-play goal in the third period was his first special-teams point in his career. The 24-year-old is up to four goals, one assist, 24 shots on net, 55 hits, 33 PIM and a minus-2 rating in 24 contests evenly divided between the Devils and the Kraken this season. It's unclear if his power-play time is something that will last or if it's a desperate move from head coach Lindy Ruff as the Devils deal with having five players in COVID-19 protocols.
