Ohio State will be down two players when the 2022 football season kicks off in the fall. Head coach Ryan Day announced during a session with local media members on Friday that running back Marcus Crowley and defensive end Mitchell Melton will both be out next year, with Crowley not playing beyond the season.
Mitchell Melton’s career at Ohio State has been stung with injuries early on. Unfortunately, he’s dealing with another one that has his 2022 campaign in jeopardy. A member of the 2020 recruiting class, Melton appeared in one game as a true freshman during the shortened COVID-19 season for the Buckeyes. Then, he missed the entirety of the 2021 season after an injury during spring practices.
