In his press conference following the spring game, Buckeyes defensive coordinator Jim Knowles said he had not received an update on the extent of Melton’s injury yet, per Patrick Murphy of Bucknuts247. If Melton is out for any significant amount of time, that dents Ohio State’s defensive depth. Melton was in the running to play the “Jack” position in Knowles’ defensive scheme.
