This is exactly what Mike Muldoon didn’t want in his 60 blessed years on this planet. Amazing that a 6-foot-6, gangling dude, a sportswriter at that, who stuck out like a sore thumb everywhere he went, was uncomfortable beyond belief when he was the center of attention. Absolutely hated it.

Andover native, sportswriter Mike Muldoon dies at 60

Mike Muldoon, an Eagle-Tribune award-winning sports reporter and editor, gifted storyteller and beloved friend to many, died May 2 after a heart attack. During his 35-year career covering local sports, Muldoon recognized tens of thousands of local athletes in his stories. His passion for writing local sports was exceptional and set him far apart from many other sportswriters. After high school, Muldoon was known to track and report on local athletes in college sports.
