Berlanga: I Have The Necessary Tools To Become The Next Miguel Cotto or Tito Trinidad

Last Saturday night, super middleweight contender Edgar Berlanga (19-0 16 KOs) picked up a less than impressive ten round unanimous decision win over Steve Rolls. It was Berlanga's first bout since a complicated victory in his last fight in November of 2021, when he suffered an injury to his left arm. Marcelo Coceres, the opponent in that bout, also scored a knockdown on Berlanga.

Joining this group of legendary fighters, publicist Bill Caplan, journalist Ron Borges and historian Bob Yalen will also be inducted into the hall of fame.

On Tuesday, the International Boxing Hall of Fame announced the inductees for the 2022 class and it is loaded with some big names. Headlining the class are Roy Jones Jr., Miguel Cotto and James Toney on the men's side, with Holly Holm and Regina Halmich for the women. The class will be inducted alongside the 2021 and 2020 classes, which have both seen their ceremonies delayed during the COVID-19 pandemic.
