Ashley Eckstein, Matt Lanter talk The Clone Wars

Star Wars: The Clone Wars stars Ashley Eckstein and Matt Lanter answered questions during a Fan Expo Chicago panel on Friday. Both Eckstein and Lanter, who star as Ahsoka Tano and Anakin Skywalker on Star Wars: The Clone Wars, have been in town this weekend to meet fans, pose for photos, and sign autographs. On Friday afternoon, both Snips and Skyguy reunited to discuss the animated series. They answered a wide range of questions during their panel including a question from yours truly. I couldn’t help but start off with a reference to Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Matt Lanter on Playing Blue Beetle, Bouncing off The Question, and his Star Wars Wedding

In DC Showcase – Constantine: The House of Mystery, Matt Lanter voiced the role of Blue Beetle Ted Kord. With the Jaime Reyes version of Blue Beetle about to get his own feature film, it's a bit surprising that Kord even appears -- but what's even cooler about the animated short is that it features not just Ted Kord, but The Question, Captain Atom, and other characters from Charlton Comics, the company that owned the character before DC took them over. In a trio of short videos provided to by Warner Bros. Animation, Lanter talked about the thrill of playing the fan-favorite character and stepping into the world of pre-Watchmen Charlton Comics.

SWCA: ‘The Clone Wars’ Matt Lanter and Ashley Eckstein to Return in ‘Tales of the Jedi’

Tales of the Jedi is shaping into quite the series, as first details are making their way online through the Star Wars Celebration event. Our own Hunter Radesi has been attending the event and offered some details from the panel that might excite some The Clone Wars fans as it’s been revealed that in three episodes focused on Ahsoka Tano’s life, we’ll see the return of Ashley Eckstein and Matt Lanter. While Rosario Dawson and Hayden Christensen have taken on the live-action roles of Ahsoka and Anakin Skywalker, this is definitely something exciting for fans of the animated series with Dave Filoni‘s heavily involved with the series.

After suffering abdominal pain earlier this month, Lanter was admitted to the hospital and diagnosed with a closed-loop intestinal obstruction that put him at high risk of severe complications if left untreated. As a result, he was immediately rushed into the operating room.
