Patriots reach injury settlement with veteran offensive lineman Marcus Martin

The New England Patriots released veteran interior lineman Marcus Martin with an injury settlement on Thursday, according to the NFL transaction wire. Martin, 27, had been placed on injured reserve amid a series of Patriots moves as active rosters around the league reduced to 80 players on Aug. 24. He saw 90 offensive snaps during the preseason prior to then between left guard, center and right guard.

Patriots Claim TE Kahale Warring Off Waivers from Houston; Release Five Players; Place OL Marcus Martin on IR

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Patriots announced that they have claimed TE Kahale Warring (pronounced – kah-HALL-aye WHERE-ing) off waivers from the Houston Texans. The Patriots also announced that they have released the following players in anticipation of today's mandatory cutdown to 80 players: DB Malik Gant, LS Brian Khoury, LB Cassh Maluia, OL R.J. Prince and WR Devin Ross.

Patriots' Marcus Martin: Placed on IR

The Patriots placed Martin (undisclosed) on injured reserve Tuesday. Martin joined the Patriots during the 2020 campaign after David Andrews went down with a calf injury. The veteran has played in 28 career regular-season games, but he will now miss his second full year in his past three seasons.

BALTIMORE (WJZ) —  Baltimore Police identified the man killed in the officer-involved shooting on Monday morning as 40-year-old Marcus Martin. Around 9:18 p.m. Sunday, police said a call came in for an assault and for an armed person. The department said they helped two people get out of the house safely but one person remaining inside was potentially having a behavioral health crisis and was armed with a weapon.
