Predators' Luke Kunin: Adds assist, three hits in win

Kunin chipped in an assist and three hits in a 4-2 win over the Coyotes on Saturday. Kunin finished with an assist, three hits, and two penalty minutes Saturday, rounding out a solid performance for the Nashville center. The former first-rounder ended a four-game pointless skid with the assist, assisting with Ryan Johansen on Mattias Ekholm's goal less than a minute into the first period. Though he spent his own time in the sin bin, Kunin also saw just over three minutes of power play ice time in the win, which could help improve his scoring numbers in the future. The 24-year-old has 12 points in 35 games this season.

Predators' Luke Kunin: Produces power-play assist

Kunin notched a power-play assist and two shots on goal in Friday's 3-2 overtime win over the Blackhawks. Kunin hasn't shown much consistency this year, though he's picked up four points through eight games in December. The 24-year-old is up to 11 points (two on the power play), 46 shots on net, 78 hits, 17 PIM and a plus-5 rating in 30 contests. He's seen a second-line role for much of the season, but the strong play of Tanner Jeannot could see Kunin slip down the lineup once the Predators get some wingers out of COVID-19 protocols.

Predators' Luke Kunin: Rare Gordie Howe hat trick

Kunin scored a goal and added an assist in a 4-3 overtime win over Montreal on Saturday. He also picked up a five-minute major for fighting. That combo is a rare Gordie Howe hat trick. His goal was clutch -- Kunin knotted the game at threes in the third when he buried the puck from the side of the crease during a goal-mouth scramble. Kunin isn't a prolific scorer -- he only has three points in his last 10 games and seven in 23 games this season. And he isn't a banger either -- the major doubled his PIM total on the year. It was a nice night for Kunin, who was celebrating his 24th birthday, but that doesn't make him fantasy worthy.

The 23-year-old snapped a six-game point drought with his goal. He's up to three tallies, four helpers, 28 shots on net, 54 hits, 18 blocks and a plus-2 rating in 21 contests. While Kunin has regularly seen top-six usage this year, he'll need to be more consistent before he'll have widespread appeal in fantasy.

Kunin produced a power-play assist, three hits and two blocked shots in Friday's 3-2 win over the Canucks. Kunin set up Philip Tomasino's go-ahead goal in the second period. The 23-year-old Kunin remains in a second-line role, but he has just four points in 11 contests. The Missouri native has added 15 shots on net, 24 hits and a plus-2 rating as a solid two-way forward, though he'll need to do more on offense to interest most fantasy managers.

Predators' Luke Kunin: Opens scoring in eventual victory

Kunin tallied a goal on four shots and had four PIM in Tuesday's 3-2 overtime win over Calgary. He also had two hits. Kunin drew first blood midway through the first period, heading to the front of the net to deflect Alexandre Carrier's shot for his first goal of the season. Predators' Luke Kunin: Manages helper in loss

Kunin produced an assist, two shots on goal and two hits in Thursday's 4-3 loss to the Kraken. The Predators' second line combined for its first goal of the year just 3:18 into the game, with Kunin setting up Eeli Tolvanen for the tally. With 19 points in 38 games last year, Kunin has a realistic chance for 40 points in 2021-22 if he stays healthy. The 23-year-old is also good for physicality (84 hits last year), so fantasy managers in deeper formats could benefit from his services as a depth forward.

Predators' Luke Kunin: Opens, closes scoring in Game 4

Kunin scored a pair of goals, including the game-winner, in a 4-3 double-overtime win over Carolina in Game 4 on Sunday. He also added six shots, four hits and two blocks. That was a big-time performance for the 23-year-old, who was all over the scoresheet in this one. Kunin opened the scoring in the game's opening minute, jumping on a loose puck in front and backhanding it through Carolina goaltender Alex Nedeljkovic. He later put the finishing touches on Nashville's second straight double-overtime victory, blasting a one-timer past Nedeljkovic from the slot with 3:50 left in the second extra session. Kunin had a nice finish to the regular season with six goals over his last nine contests, but his two-goal outburst Sunday marked his first points of the series.
