He's been nominated for a Grammy Award as an artist, and has written for Chris Brown, Justin Bieber and more, but maybe is best known to SoulTrackers for his wonderful portrayal of Johnny Gill in the TV biopic The New Edition Story.

‘Horror Noire’: Lesley-Ann Brandt, Luke James, Erica Ash & Others Join Shudder Anthology

EXCLUSIVE: Lesley-Ann Brandt, Luke James and Erica Ash are among 13 actors who have joined the cast of Shudder’s upcoming horror anthology Horror Noire. Horror Noire, a Shudder Original, will feature new work from both established and emerging talents, showcasing horror stories from Black directors and screenwriters. The anthology will feature six stories – “Daddy,” “Bride Before You,” “Brand of Evil,” “The Lake,” “Sundown” and “Fugue State” — presented together as a two-hour film. Horror Noire premieres in October on Shudder.

Thoughts of a Colored Man, the new play by Keenan Scott II, will begin performances at Broadway’s Golden Theatre on Friday, October 1, opening Sunday, Oct. 31, with an ensemble cast that includes Dyllón Burnside (FX’s Pose), Bryan Terrell Clark (Hamilton), Da’Vinchi (Showtime’s upcoming Black Mafia Family), Luke James (Showtime’s The Chi), Forrest McClendon (The Scottsboro Boys), Tristan “Mack” Wilds (HBO’s The Wire), and Keith David (Seven Guitars, OWN’s Greenleaf).

I first learned about the release of Luke James' newest project, to feel love/d, while attending his live show in February 2020. The singer had quietly dropped his second album the day before, yet I was one of only people on the crowded floor of New York City's Cutting Room who didn't know the songs from start to finish. Clad in a fetching fuchsia velvet co-ord set, the R&B singer hit the stage and sang the house down for a full set all about love.
