Loretta Lynn was born a coal miner’s daughter. In a recent social media post, the country music legend opened up about her dear ol’ dad in honor of Father’s Day. Lynn shared a black and white photo of her father Melvin Theodore “Ted” Webb. Webb worked in the coal mines during Lynn’s youth to provide for his family. But Webb’s profession ultimately ended up costing him his life. The coal miner died from black lung disease at just the age of 52. Black lung disease is caused by long-term exposure to coal dust.
