Livy’s Neapolitan Pizza headed to Gibson Mill in Concord

Livy’s Neapolitan Pizzeria — by the team behind Heist Brewery — will be slinging its signature pies at Gibson Mill later this year. The pizza concept will operate a 650-square-foot food stall at that adaptive-reuse project in Concord. It should open by this fall, says Kurt Hogan, CEO and founder of the brewery and pizza ventures.

Lewis Livingston “Livy” Leavell Sr., 93, of Pembroke, passed away Sunday, March 6, 2022, at Bradford Heights Nursing and Rehab in Hopkinsville of natural causes. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2022 at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home in Hopkinsville with Rev. Jimmy Stewart and Rev. Bobby Spurling officiating. Burial will follow in Rosedale Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. on Friday, March 11, 2022, at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home.

When Livy Ciotoli was growing up in Westmoreland County, reading was her favorite pastime. “When I was a kid, I was pretty shy. Reading was my go-to hobby. I read so much as a kid and just pored through books,” said Ms. Ciotoli, 29, of Bloomfield. “I look fondly back at that time. It really made me imaginative, and I learned so much.”

Livy’s Library provides free books to young Pittsburghers

Most people store their books on a bookshelf, maybe a couple of bookcases if they’re particularly bibliophilic. Livy Ciotoli used to store her books in a warehouse. Eventually, she moved her books to her business, the Black Cat Market, a cat cafe that recently moved from Lawrenceville to Garfield. Now, Ciotoli is relaunching Livy’s Library, a program she created to help distribute those books to children ages 16 and younger through a free monthly book subscription service, with pickups available at the cafe. And kids get to keep the books they get.

Livy’s Livery, Swan Antics bring classics to marketplace

Livy’s Livery Auction Service in Perry and its sister business, Swan Antics, are recycling many used and antique items in biweekly auctions at 913 Evelyn St., in the former home until 2015 of Mark Seed and of Simplex Seed until 2018, which closed exactly 100 years after the location first opened as the Perry branch of the Grimes Canning Co.
