Jonathan Gresham Pulled From The WRLD on GCW, Lio Rush Takes His Place

Sunday's Game Changer Wrestling's pay-per-view, The WRLD on GCW, was supposed to feature an ROH World Championship match as Jonathan Gresham was booked to take on Blake Christian. Unfortunately, Gresham had to be pulled from the show at the last minute. It was confirmed prior to the bout that Christian would get a future shot at the ROH title, but in the meantime, he'd be taking on his old rival in former WWE and AEW star Lio Rush. Christian would go on to win the bout, nailing Rush with a 450 Double Stomp.

Jonathan Gresham was replaced by Lio Rush on tonight’s The Wrld on GCW event. Prior to the match, Christian said that things happen, and as a result Gresham wasn’t at tonight’s show. After saying he still wanted his ROH title shot in the future, he said that someone else was in the back that he had great matches with in GCW. This brought out Rush. Christian was eventually able to pick up the win with a 450 splash.

Lio Rush announced for February Terminus event

A day after he made news with his AEW contract status, Lio Rush was announced for the second Terminus event, set for February 24th in Atlanta, Georgia. Rush tweeted Saturday that as of February 14th, his AEW contract will expire and he will become a free agent just six months after the company got him to return after an announced retirement.

Lio Rush is heading to TERMINUS. News broke Sunday morning that the multiple-time champion will take part in TERMINUS 2 on February 24. Rush is the second big name to receive the “Welcome to Terminus” graphic on social media in recent days. Former WWE NXT North American Champion, Swerve, was announced for the showcase days prior.

Lio Rush Scheduled For Next Terminus Event

As seen in the announcement below, soon-to-be free agent Lio Rush has been booked for the next Terminus event in Atlanta, GA on February 24. The lineup of stars being featured on next month’s show continues to grow, though tickets are unavailable at this time. Along with Rush, AEW’s Santana and free agent Sw3rve The Realest (formerly Isaiah “Swerve” Scott in WWE) have been already signed on for the event.
