Knoxville, TN — The popularity of the Tennessee baseball team is at an all-time high. In fact, they have absolutely shattered the season attendance record. The record was set back in 1997.. when just over 64-thousand took in games at Lindsey Nelson Stadium.This year.. they’ve already had 105-thousand 952 in attendance.

Legendary Sports broadcaster Lindsey Nelson

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — Legendary sports broadcaster Lindsey Nelson got his start at the University of Tennessee. The Tennessee native graduated from UT in 1941 and after serving in World War II in North Africa and Europe, Nelson returned to Knoxville and created the Vol Network where he was the first play-by-play announcer.

TEA: Meet Lindsey Nelson

Themed Entertainment Association’s new Executive Director. The Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) welcomed Lindsey Nelson, CAE as the organization’s Executive Director in June of 2021. With a substantial background in association management and development, Nelson is well- positioned to build on the existing strengths of TEA, which was founded in 1991 and serves the industry with events for networking, professional development and education such as the SATE conferences; publications such as the TEA/AECOM Theme Index; and recognition such as the Thea Awards and TEA Masters. We asked her about her experience and plans for the future.

But the Tennessee athletic director knows who he’ll turn to for the vision. “I’m committed to whatever our baseball coach tells me gives us the best opportunity to continue to recruit and develop players at a really high level,” White said of fourth-year head coach Tony Vitello.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Word came Tuesday afternoon that all Tennessee games in this weekend’s NCAA Tournament Knoxville regional are sold out. It should be a terrific atmosphere for an event that’s been a long time in coming. It’s been 16 years, 2005 is the last time the Baseball Vols hosted an NCAA Tournament Regional.. Tennessee would go on to the College World Series that year.
