Lily Rabe and her longtime partner, actor Hamish Linklater, quietly welcomed a third child together. “To the best there is,” Rabe, 39, captioned a sweet black-and-white Instagram shot of Linklater, 45, with their newborn, on Father’s Day. In the photo, Linklater is holding the baby while its head is just out of the shot. The celebrity couple did not reveal the baby’s name, sex or when she gave birth. The “American Horror Story” actress and the “Midnight Mass” actor have been dating since 2013, and are already parents to a daughter born in 2017 and a second child born in June 2020. Henry Golding Joins The Cast Of Downtown Owl Adaptation, Lily Rabe And Hamish Linklater's Directorial Debut
Lily Rabe hive, our time has come. A film adaptation of Chuck Klosterman's novel "Downtown Owl" has been kicking around Hollywood for over a decade, with Adam Scott's Gettin' Rad Productions optioning the rights to the novel. All of that has changed, however, as Lily Rabe and longtime partner Hamish Linklater are making their co-directorial debuts with the adaptation. The story is set in the fictional town of Owl, North Dakota, following the intrinsically connected lives of three different characters — the elderly Horace, depressed high school backup quarterback Mitch, and Julia, the new English teacher in town. Set in the 1980s, the small town of Owl is somewhat distanced from the current trends and stranglehold of pop culture, allowing their lives to be intimately shaped by their interactions with one another when their lives are all bewildered by a freak blizzard.

Lily Rabe on ‘The Tender Bar,’ What Surprised Her About Working with George Clooney, and Why She Loved William Monahan’s Script
With director George Clooney’s The Tender Bar now streaming on Prime Video, I recently got to speak with Lily Rabe about making the film. Written by William Monahan and based on Pulitzer Prize-winning writer J.R. Moehringer’s memoir of the same name, the Massachusetts-set drama explores the relationship between the fatherless J.R. (Tye Sheridan) and his uncle (Ben Affleck), as they bond at a bar overflowing with colorful patrons. The film also stars Ron Livingston, Christopher Lloyd, Max Martini, Briana Middleton, Max Casella. Daniel Ranieri plays the young J.R.
Lily Rabe is one of the busiest performers in Hollywood. In just the past year and a half, you've seen her in "The Undoing," "Tell Me Your Secrets," "The Underground Railroad" and of course, "American Horror Story." Now, in the new George Clooney-directed Amazon studio film "The Tender Bar," she costars with Ben Affleck, Christopher Lloyd and Tye Sheridan as a tenacious single mother with big dreams for her only child.
Producing partners Grant Heslov and George Clooney attempted to purchase the film rights to The Tender Bar 15 years ago, immediately after Heslov read the memoir. They were unsuccessful back then, but eventually the script landed at Amazon and former co-head of movies at Amazon Studios Ted Hope reached out to inquire if Heslov and Clooney were interested in being involved.
"The Tender Bar" from Amazon Studios is a coming of age story with a lot of heart and a lot of star power both on the screen and behind the scenes. FOX 7 Austin's Casey Claiborne talks to two the stars of the film.
Now playing in theaters, the George Clooney directed picture also stars Ben Affleck and Christopher Lloyd. The Tender Bar is a story that oozes with sweetness. Directed by George Clooney and based on the best-selling memoir by J.R. Moehringer, the film set in the 70s tells the tale of a fatherless boy named J.R. (Tye Sheridan) who’s raised by his mother (Lily Rabe) and her family of colorful characters. Despite the abandonment of his father there’s no shortage of love in J.R.’s upbringing, which primarily takes place between the run-down home of his grandfather (Christopher Lloyd) and the cozy bar owned by his wise and witty Uncle Charlie (Ben Affleck).
Interview: Tye Sheridan and Lily Rabe (‘The Tender Bar’) talk small towns, role models, working with George Clooney and Ben Affleck
The Tender Bar is about the childhood of novelist and Pulitzer Prize winning writer, J.R Moehringer. We see J.R in two forms, in his adolescences by Daniel Ranieri and into his older form by Tye Sheridan, with both struggling with the absence of his father, substituting his uncle Charlie in for that missing parental figure. But the constant in his life is his mother Dorothy, played by Lily Rabe, who moves J.R and herself back into her childhood home and surrounds her son with a loving support system to help him grow further in life than she did. This is the strongest aspect of George Clooney’s film, the bond between mother and son, and it’s done effortlessly by Sheridan and Rabe.

“It Made All of Us Rethink Things That Happened in Our Lives”: ‘THR Presents’ Q&A With ‘Tender Bar’ Actors Tye Sheridan and Lily Rabe
Director George Clooney gave his star, Tye Sheridan, a few tried-and-true acting tricks while making his latest feature, coming-of-age drama The Tender Bar. “He’ll come up to you after a take and say, ‘All right, Tye, here’s an old actor trick,’” reveals Sheridan, 25, to THR Presents, powered by Vision Media. “He’ll go into this spiel about, ‘Before you say that line, look up. Just look down and look up. It works. It’ll kill them.’” Upon learning that, however, Sheridan’s co-star, Lily Rabe, couldn’t help but feel a little short-changed. “He didn’t give me any actor tricks!” exclaims Rabe, 39. “That’s ‘cause you’re good...
