Whatever your experience was of director Chloé Zhao's superhero epic "Eternals" when it was released in theaters late last year, if you're a die hard Marvel Studios fan, you certainly owe it to yourself to give it another spin on home video. With the film now available on 4K, Blu-ray, and DVD, it's the perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in one of Marvel's wildest, most sprawling epics yet.
In a recent interview with CBM, Eternal actress Lia McHugh talks possible futures for Sprite in the MCU. For what it’s worth, this does seems to be purely speculative from McHugh, not a list of spoilers. Just a young actress hoping to come back and wondering where and if she could show up again. An Eternals sequel seems likely eventually whether on film or streaming, but as we know with the MCU, characters can pop up anywhere.
ETERNALS Star Lia McHugh Teases Sprite's MCU Future, Possible Roles In Sequel Or BLADE, And More (Exclusive)
At the end of Eternals, Sersi uses her powers to turn Sprite into a human, which will finally allow her to grow old and live a normal life after spending thousands of years stuck in the body of a child. While her immortality has been lost, we don't know whether Sprite is powerless or capable of helping Sersi, Kingo, and Phastos after they were taken from Earth by a vengeful Arishem.
ETERNALS Star Lia McHugh Explains Karaoke Deleted Scene With Sprite From The First Trailer (Exclusive)
Deleted scenes are par for the course with any big movie, though the release of that "Infinity Saga" box set drove home the fact Marvel Studios has been holding out on us in a huge way. There were moments included there we never knew had been put on film, and...
Eternals actress Lia McHugh is taking on the big question: will we get a sequel? Eternals isn't the usual Marvel Studios film property; not only is it one of the more lackluster Marvel Cinematic Universe films ever released (critically "Rotten"; $400 million on a $200 million budget), the ending of Eternals pretty much leaves it questionable as to whether or not there will be a follow-up film. Well, Lia McHugh (who plays the perennially young "Sprite" in Eternals) didn't confirm that she and the rest of the cat are coming back for a sequel – but she didn't cast doubt on it, either.
Marvel Studios has a unique approach to making movies, with additional photography (reshoots) factored into the creative process from day one. This allows them to go back and make the changes they believe are required, whether it's switching up a character's story arc, altering the tone of the movie, or even redoing the ending in order to set up future stories.
On the outside, the heroes of Marvel’s Eternals never change. On the inside, it’s a different story. In Eternals, streaming now on Disney+, alien immortals with superpowers spend eons looking as they did at the dawn of human civilization. This is a problem for the youthful-looking Eternal, “Sprite,” played by teenage actress Lia McHugh. Throughout Eternals, Sprite wrestles with an unusual identity crisis: How can an immortal ever grow up?
Lia McHugh played Sprite in Marvel's "Eternals," and she's got a treat for us. On Instagram, McHugh teased a possible deleted scene between Sprite and Dane Whitman (Kit Harington, aka the guy who appeared for about five minutes, was surprisingly cool about meeting his girlfriend's ex of thousands of years, and was really there just to set up the after-credits scene). Spoilers ahead for "Eternals," which should be obvious, but hey, spoilers have been a part of this film since the second the premiere let out.

When Lia McHugh was born, she didn’t know that she’d end up being a famous actress in some of the coolest projects around. She’s still so young, and she’s still in awe of all she’s managed to accomplish as a teenager, and we are all cheering her on. She’s talented, she’s lovely, and she is taking the world by storm. The young “Into the Dark,” actress is now part of the major Marvel franchise after taking on the role of Sprite in the Marvel movie, “Eternals,” and she is killing it. She’s a household name at this point, and her fans want to know everything about her.
Eternals finally hit theaters last night and features a massive cast of MCU newcomers playing a race of immortal beings with superhuman powers who have secretly lived on Earth for thousands of years. While there are many big names on the line-up like Angelina Jolie and Salma Hayek, there are also a couple of fresh faces in the mix. 14-year-old Lia McHugh plays Sprite, who has the ability to cast illusions. "Her powers are utilized in a lot of creative ways in Eternals that become very relevant to the story," McHugh previously shared with Total Film. When it comes to playing a Marvel hero, all actors have a different process. Some folks deep dive into the comics to learn their character's backstory while others prefer to stick to the film script. During a recent chat with ComicBook.com's Brandon David, McHugh shared that she didn't read up on Sprite before making Eternals.
McHugh plays Sprite in the latest Marvel film.
It's tough being the youngest one in the family. Even more so, it's tough being the youngest-looking for thousands and thousands of years, while the rest of your immortal, god-like compatriots get to blend into humanity as full-grown adults. But apart from playing the eternally youthful Sprite in Marvel's "Eternals," 14-year-old Lia McHugh had the opposite of a tough time on a set that included bonafide movie stars like Angelina Jolie and Salma Hayek.
For Eternals star Lia McHugh, being a Marvel superhero still "doesn't feel real." "I don't think it's really hit me yet how huge this is for me," she tells PEOPLE ahead of the movie's opening on Friday. "As as a kid, I was very imaginative but I never thought in a million years, never even dreamed of being in the MCU 'cause I never thought it would be possible."
Eternals Star Lia McHugh Had To Speak An Impressive Number Of Languages For The Movie, And They Aren’t All In The Final Cut
The various members of the titular group in Chloé Zhao’s Eternals all have their own specific powers, be it Richard Madden’s Ikaris being able to fly, or Barry Keoghan’s Druig controlling minds, but they also have the gifts that come along with being on Earth for 7,000 years. Having been around to see the formations of societies around the planet, they are deeply familiar with the history of the world’s various cultures. This is a detail that is made a part of all the Eternals characters and the actors’ performances, but it’s most notably illustrated by Lia McHugh, who speaks a wider range of languages than any of her co-stars in her turn as Sprite.
