Removing his basketball coach on Tuesday was the byproduct of what this season was, and what the last few seasons have been in the wake of back-to-back NCAA Tournaments in 2015 and 2016.

Reactions to Head Coach Larry Krystkowiak Being Fired After 10 Seasons

University of Utah Basketball fans collectively rejoiced this afternoon as head coach Larry Krystkowiak was released from his duties after 10 seasons with the program. In 10 seasons with the program, Krystkowiak put together an overall record of 183-139 (.568) and a conference record of 91-90 (.503) while at the helm of Utah basketball. He also led the team to two NCAA appearances including a visit to the sweet-sixteen during the 2015-16 season. While his win percentage was well over .500, most of Krystkowiak’s success was early in his time with the team as the program has not made the NCAA tournament since the sweet-sixteen appearance and has recorded back-to-back losing seasons.
