There has been a change in the title of upcoming mystery thriller drama from That Night to One Ordinary Day. Not sure why the change but it does from dark and foreboding to merely intriguing. The drama stars Kim Soo Hyun and Cha Seung Won adapted from the BBC series Criminal Justice and will air exclusively on Coupang Play streaming as an 8-episode series. Kim Soo Hyun plays a college student accused of murder and his life turns upside down. Directing is the PD of The Fiery Priest, Punch, Whisper, and Backstreet Rookie with the script by the writer of Warrior Baek Dong Soo and Jackpot. The drama is reportedly to have a nearly 40% higher per episode production cost than recent big budget dramas and there is a fan leak that actress Han Ye Seul is part of the cast as she was spotted filming in the nighttime by the Han River opposite Kim Soo Hyun.

Kim Soo Hyun Talks About Preparing For His New Drama, How His Values Have Changed, And More

Kim Soo Hyun recently participated in a pictorial and interview for Vogue. During the interview, the actor was asked about being more than a decade into his career. Kim Soo Hyun answered, “I first started in 2007 and somehow I’ve already found myself here. If I look back, there were abundant times to the point of excess, but there were also times when I regretted, retreated, felt a lack. I can’t judge whether I was right or wrong when I look back on the past, but I also don’t feel like I should have avoided those situations. Time will pass, and whether it’s an honor or a wound, both of them leave traces. I’m still running toward a dream, and I don’t know how long I’ll be able to make myself heard as an actor, but I’m still able to endure the feelings that surround me now.

The Korean Film Council (KOFIC) is assembling a list call the Korean Actors 200 (includes both actors and actresses) to represent the top acting talent from the industry with an express aim to raise further international recognition of the breadth and depth in the Korean film industry. Barudak in Korean is a portmanteau of the adjective "바른" which means "correct" and "닭" which means chicken. The brand of the company is chicken (or other foods) made the correct, or healthy way. Products sold by Barudak are often promoted as being good for dieting, or just good for the body in general, as well as tasting good.

Kim Soo Hyun Exudes Positive Casual Vibes in New Agency Pictorial

I get angsty when it goes too long without a new update, lol I have no idea how I got through his two years away in military service. He came back with the well received It’s Okay to Not be Okay but it wasn’t the runaway ratings hits that he garnered in the pre-military days. He was the “normal” character and I loved that he played it with such effortless heart but up next for him is the opposite in K-drama That Night where he’s a college student wrongly accused of murder. A gritty legal thriller sounds like a great next flex for him and hopefully he’ll start churning out more media appearances and promos soon.

Kim Soo Hyun Shares Charming Stay Warm Pictures to Kickoff 2021

I wish these pictures from his agency came out a few days earlier then it would be all over K-net with the news that Kim Soo Hyun was confirmed for K-drama That Night with sunbae hyung Cha Seung Won. But I can still enjoy them and these pics just highlight how boyish he still looks despite crossing over into his 30’s (he’s 32) and did his military stint. I guess some guys forever look baby-faced, and I see the same with Song Joong Ki and Park Bo Gum, and together I stan these talented actors for their versatility despite making ahjummas want to marry daughters off to them haha. The color of Kim Soo Hyun’s sweater is also super cute, the grey with marigold is a gorgeous combo.

In Kim Soo Hyun’s time of need, he will have to depend on Cha Seung Won, a lawyer who barely passed the bar exam yet he is the only lawyer who is willing to help with the case. As the main characters navigate through the legal challenges, they also uncover the issues in the justice system from the perspective of the accused.

Epic Collab as Kim Soo Hyun and Cha Seung Won Confirm K-drama That Night Based Off BBC Show Criminal Justice

So one hand declines one other and the other hand signs on to another, thanks for not letting me wait for news Kim Soo Hyun-sshi! The top actor recently passed on Netflix drama Finger but is sticking with the thriller genre and has accepted his next project, the K-drama That Night. Joining him in the dual male lead role is Cha Seung Won, who I thought was solely the hyung property of Lee Seung Gi and Son Ho Jun but lol I guess not. OMG this sounds so awesome and I’m way more excited about this than Finger. Kim Soo Hyun will play a college student who after an event one night becomes the suspect in a murder case. Cha Seung Won plays the third rate lawyer who is the only one who extends a helping hand to him in his hopeless straits. The drama is from the PD of Backstreet Rookie, The Fiery Priest, Whisper, and Punch, with the screenwriter of The Royal Gambler, Goddess of Fire, and Warrior Baek Dong Soo. It’s scheduled to air in the second half of 2021 and doesn’t yet have a network.

Kim Soo Hyun Declines Netflix K-drama Finger and Rumored Female Lead Han Hyo Joo Also Passes Due to Scheduling Conflict

It’s a blank slate for original K-drama Finger, but with the situation as it is hopefully the production regroups to figure out the next steps. K-actor Kim Soo Hyun was in talks for the male lead of the drama but this week officially declined. I don’t think it means he won’t do a Netflix drama in the future, just not this one. Unofficially, the drama was courting Han Hyo Joo for the female lead and she was reportedly signed on as well, but had to drop out after her confirmed drama Moving with Jo In Sung pushed back filming start due to COVID-19 and ended up conflicted with Finger. I hope Kim Soo Hyun finds another K-drama this year, strike while the iron is hot and it does feel like there are still really interesting projects in the works.
