Kim Hee-sun is a well-known South Korean actress who shot to fame during the mid-to-late 1990s playing lead roles in an array of hit Korean dramas. These included ‘Men of the Bath House’, ‘Mister Q’ and ‘Wedding Dress’ among others. This ravishing diva stepped into the showbiz with modelling in teen magazines after winning Fair Face Beauty Contest in 1992 while she was in middle school. She made her acting debut the following year with TV series ‘Dinosaur Teacher’. This was followed by other notable series that brought her several awards and accolades. She won the Grand Prize (Daesang) award at the SBS Drama Awards in 1998 for her performance in ‘Mister Q’ which made her youngest recipient of the prestigious award at that time. Her TV series performances along with films like ‘Bichunmoo’ gradually made her a Korean Wave star in mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and across Southeast Asia. She took hiatus from acting for a few years following her marriage and motherhood. Thereafter, she returned to the acting scene and featured in several notable TV series apart from films and variety shows. Some other noteworthy works of Kim include films like ‘Wanee & Junah’ and ‘The Myth’; and TV series like ‘Faith’, ‘Wonderful Days’ and ‘Angry Mom’.
